MINUTES OF VIDYALAYA MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING

 

The meeting of the Vidyalaya Management Committee of Kendriya Vidyalaya Suranussi was held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 12:30 P.M. in the Vidyalaya. Major Akashdeep, 223 ABOD, Chairman’s Nominee presided over the meeting.

 

The following members were present:

Welcome:

 

Floral Welcome was accorded to Maj. Akashdeep, Chaiman’s Nominee by the Principal, Sh. G.S. Sethi. Formal welcome to all the members of VMC was also extended by worthy Principal of the Vidyalaya.

 

  1. Repair of Outdoor toilets and construction of Borewell: Permission was sought and was granted for the repair of outdoor toilets as well as for the construction of Borewell for the school ground maintenance.

 

  1. Cycle Stand- an Inspection Committee to be formed for recommending demolition: It was brought to the knowledge of members of VMC that 10 year old Cycle stand of the Vidyalaya has become unsafe for parking. In order to make a new one it has to be demolished. Principal sought the cooperation of MES people in this regard. Nominee Chairman agreed to this point.

 

  1. The drainage problem was brought to the notice of the members. The Nominee Chairman suggested ‘Pernala type’ system with open pipes for proper outlet of water as the North-West section of the campus has no drainage outlet and water-logging leads to breeding of pests and other related problems.

 

  1. Special repairs: The contractor entrusted with the task by the MES has done extremely shoddy work but the MES authorities instead of monitoring and checking him come back with the same stock reply that he will be asked to rectify the short-comings when he hands over the completion report. This would only lengthen the repair job but the Vidyalaya cannot allow the work to drag-on indefinitely as the Vidyalaya has to function and cannot keep waiting for the contractor forever to finish the task.

 

  1. School Result- 92% AISSCE & AISSE Supplementaries in Economics (XII) and English (X): Principal informed the members of the VMC about the satisfactory results of Class XII and X and the steps being taken by the Vidyalaya to help the students appearing in supplementary exams. Members were satisfied and came up with the suggestion to hire experts in the subjects in question.

 

 

  1. Vidyalaya’s security services upgradation as per the latest direction issued by M.H.A. to be followed by all the KVS as per letter No. F.11029/19/2008-KVSHQ911-3-10 (SOP) was taken up in the meeting the preventive steps listed in the circular has already been initiated including beefing up the security apparatus including issuance of Walkie-talkie sets/mobile sets to the security guards, now manning both the gates of the school.

 

  

  1. Construction of Additional water tank: To meet the increasing demand of water, a proposal of construction of additional water tank for augmentation of water supply was presented by the Principal which was accepted by the VMC.

 

  1. Play station for primary section: The need of extension of the play stations for primary section was brought to the notice of the Committee which was accepted and approved by all.

 

  1. Display boards and signboards: As the Display boards and signboards of the school are old and not in proper condition, a proposal of making new ones was mooted. It was informed that the Approximate expenditure would be Rs. 50000/-Proposal was approved by the Committee.

 

  1. Discussed and approved by the members present that the school should go in for the AMC for the following services also mainly

 

    1. Plumbing repairs
    2. Electric repairs
    3. Water cooler repairs and the other normal services of computers , water filters and printers etc. as per GFR article No. 181 (iii) and (iv)

 

 

  1. In keeping the size of the school grounds in mind the need of keeping two gardeners was also discussed and approved.

 

  1. Purchase of Vacuum Cleaner for Computer Lab and library was also sanctioned as dust leads to deterioration of systems and causes allergies to students perusing the library books.

Suggestions by the Parent Member:

 

  1. Civil Engineer should also be consulted for the construction work.
  2. Proper cleaning should be done after repairing work.
  3. Immediate demolition of cycle stand is required keeping in view the safety and security of the students.
  4. More emphasis should be given for getting better results in Board classes.
  5. Career counseling should be provided to the students of Class IX also so that they can prepare their minds for the competitive exams and careers.
